Hello again! Wow, another review! I'm on a roll this month haha! I'll be reviewing two lipsticks from CANMAKE Tokyo.
CANMAKE is a drugstore brand fromJapan. They have a complete range of make-up products that are relatively affordable. I own quite a number of their products and while I would say that you generally get what you pay for, Japanese make-up products, even the drugstore ones, are mostly of acceptable/good quality.
Anyway, on to the review! I have two Creamy Touch Rouge lipsticks - #2 Misty Orange and #3 Sweet Cherry.
Packaging: It comes in a shiny gold lipstick tube that looks sophisticated and classy.
Price: If I remember correctly, I bought it for 88 HKD.
What Canmake Says:
"A new texture! Velvety semi-matte lips!!!
Creamy texture and high color that goes on just the way it looks in the pot.
A rouge that creates plump lips that feel great, just like chocolate ganache."
True to Canmake's description, this lipstick has a creamy consistency. Its glides on easily when applied and feels more like a pigmented lip balm instead of a lipstick. But because it's semi-matte, this lipstick accentuates chapped lips. It is important to exfoliate and moisturize before putting this on. I love how these don't have that waxy taste some lipsticks have.
Sweet Cherry is a soft pinkish red that can easily be worn during the day. If you want to try red lipstick for the first time but are afraid of looking too overdone, this is a comfortable starting point.
Misty Orange is a coral peach shade that is so easy to wear with everyday make-up. I especially like using this with coral blush for a fresh spring/ summer look.
Above are swatches of the two shades. The photo without flash comes closest to the colors in real life. As you can see, you can build on the colors. You can choose to simply pat it on if you want just a hint of color or you can layer it for a more solid look.
Lipstick swatches are still present even after scrubbing with water. However, on the lips, this lipstick somewhat settles into lines after drinking water or eating.
All in all, I recommend these Canmake lipsticks! They are creamy and affordable. The colors are pretty useable and are pigmented enough to smoothly cover your lip color without lip concealer.
